I started to read this book at the start of lockdown (quite by accident) after seeing it on my husband’s desk and becoming intrigued.
I have to admit that prior to reading this book, I had thought traditional networking to be a bit outdated and a waste of time. How wrong was I?
Because roll on a few months later and after reading this book, (and having a quick zoom call with Tracey ,the author of the book) some pretty amazing stuff has happened for me,:including my being in the process of publishing 2 books (one of which had been written for about 3 years!) after she put me in touch with a publishing contact, which was proof indeed for me ,that networking is still very much alive and kicking (even during a global pandemic!)
Anyway, If I had to choose the best bits of the book (because there are quite a lot to choose from) I would have to say that I particularly found the following topics really helpful:
How to start a conversation during a networking event and what to talk about, as this is something that I particularly struggle with.
How to politely move on to another conversation if the current one is drying up (or going on a bit).
How to start building up trust that lead on to mutual referrals.
The “common mistakes” to avoid when networking.
The most effective way to find referral partners…This was a particular favourite of mine as I hadn’t realised how easy (and powerful) this can be.
I only wish that I had come across this strategy years ago as it would not only have saved my husband and I a lot of marketing costs, but it would have saved us a whole lot of stress too!
If you’re in business of any description, I would highly recommend purchasing this book for tips and advice on how to take your business to the next level by networking with other like minded people. It can be a lot easier than you think and can lead to some unexpected opportunities.Julie Derrick, 5 out of 5 stars. Reviewed on Amazon.co.uk.
Being new to networking I was keen to read this book by Tracey Smolinski, the Co-Founder of the Introbiz network. There are some superb tools and ideas in this easy to read book, that not only will help you to start networking with confidence, but also in marketing your business. If you are a start up and need some good practical advice, I would heartily recommend this book and encourage you to join a networking organisation. Look out for TOMATO; bet you want to buy it now!

Mr James Dalton
An absolute must for all those in the network marketing industry!
I thought I was pretty good at networking until I read this amazing book! Now I know that I was predominantly wasting my time, my energy and my money! This book has made me re evaluate how and why I network as well as giving me the tools to network far more effectively in the future. Thank you Tracey.
