Mortal Coil

Mortal Coil is a poetry collection that grapples with the frailty of this conflicted life. It has a view of a distinctly expressed exposure to issues of our times.

Subjects of technology and the personal interactions of humanity expose the underside of our troubled society, expressed in Gary Beck’s inimitable style.

1 review for Mortal Coil

  1. Godfrey Logan, Chicago Record Magazine

Mortal Coil is the man with the microphone and loud speaker in Times Square or State street in Chicago. The end is near. “Symptoms of disease course through the body politic, Ambition and greed.” Mortal Coil is the conscience of the people without being partisan. The drip of derision in “Sterner Stuff.” ‘Their combined efforts got me mega yachts. Trophy wives. All the treasure money can buy. Mortal Coil is a call to arms but a weariness pervades and stunts those movements. A read for every Labor Day.
