If you think in terms of a year, plant a seed; if in terms of 10 years, plant trees; if in terms of 100 years, teach the people.Confucius
We all strive to do things right, at least generally, but how would you do the thing you want to do if you deliberately did everything wrong?
Let’s say I wanted to start up a florist’s. What should I do to ensure that it’s a failure?
- Stock only dead plants.
- Stock no plants.
- Stock chopped meat.
- Don’t do home deliveries.
- Don’t open the door.
- Don’t have a phone.
- Don’t tell anyone I’m running a business.
- Be rude.
- Only take Italian Lire as payment.
That’s one minute’s output. Do it for longer, and you get a list of some of the very things that you should be doing when you switch out the negative for a positive. But thinking negatively can sometimes be easier than thinking positively – after all, everyone’s a critic! And sometimes just stretching your imagination can take you in all sorts of directions you might not have considered when thinking positively.
