Extramundane: outside or beyond the physical world.


Here’s a word we caught this week. We thought we’d share extramundane with you as it could be read as extra, as in very, mundane. This is the exact opposite of its true signification, and is an easy mistake to make if you don’t have a good grasp of Romance etymology.

Here’s an example of it in use:

‘In most religions, heaven is an extramundane place,’ explained the professor. ‘Just to clarify, “extramundane” is one word here,’ she added.
